Sibton Park which dates from 1827, is a spectacular example of a Grade II* listed Manor house built to designs in the classical style by architect Decimus Burton. The house features giant pilasters and a central bay of full height Ionic columns forming an open semi-circular portico to create a dramatic entrance.
Wind up the silver-grey driveway to the historic Manor House. Guest bedrooms are allocated and you unpack in the ‘Copper Bath’ room – is it too early to try it out? You feel your way around the house and grounds, past the fireplaces, grand reception rooms and the cinema, taking it all in and getting distracted by the games room.
You discuss dinner menus with the chef, and go over the wines you picked from the cellar. Guests retire to the 12 spacious bedrooms and get into black tie. The party starts with Sloe Gin and cocktails facing the lake, ends with tipsy chess by the fire and late night bacon sandwiches in the library before tomorrow brings a full day of shooting.
